Moodle is now back online. Users will have to update their Campus Computer Account Password before being able to login. See instructions in your e-mail, a previous post on this blog, or the Moodle login page.
To the Campus Community:

Maintenance on major systems continues today. There was unrelated trouble with the mail server overnight–it has been resolved. Users should be receiving mail now. Phishing attacks have significantly slowed down the sending of mail. We are working to mitigate this. Moodle is online, but not (yet) allowing logins while maintenance is being completed.
The Moodle server is offline as part of the maintenance being performed this weekend. We will publish another post when it is back online.
A planned maintenance window has been scheduled for this coming weekend beginning Saturday March 5th at 9:00 A. M. through Sunday March 6th at 9:00 P. M. to allow for upgrades to major systems supporting the campus. During this time the following services will experience brief intermittent outages:
– Banner, BearPAWS, and BearDeN
– SOGo/Bearmail email and calendaring
– Moodle
– SUNY Portal
– VPN for faculty/staff
– Access to online library resources
– Wireless Connectivity
The following services will not be affected:
– Swipe Card Access
– Telephony
– Apogee Resnet Services
Updates and the status of all services will be posted to our Network Status Blog ( https://blogs.potsdam.edu/network ) throughout the weekend to note our progress. A campus–wide email will be sent at the close of the maintenance window.
If you have an emergency during this outage, contact University Police at 315-267-2222.
Our authentication/directory system is experiencing service issues currently. Systems that require authentication, including printing, are affected. We are working to resolve the issue.
The CTS HelpDesk is very short-staffed today. If no one is available to take your call please leave a message and someone will get back to you as soon as possible.
Thank you for your patience.
ITEC will be performing OS and firmware updates to the PROD servers for Banner and DegreeWorks on Wednesday 2/24 from 12:00am-7:00am. This means Banner/BearPAWS/BearDeN/BDMS will be down during that timeframe.
We’d like to invite you to apply for a job at our Helpdesk in Stillman Hall if you have been awarded Federal Work Study at Potsdam.
You don’t need to be a computer wiz to work for us. All we ask is a willingness to learn and an interest in technology. If you have a computer and have installed software, a printer or other device, that’s a great start. We’ll teach you much more as you help us support the College technology and you’ll gain valuable skills to take with you after graduation.
We have a PDF that you can download and fill out electronically or bring into the Helpdesk.
