The campus web server experienced a system anomaly and required a reboot. All web services should now be available.

On Tuesday, August 4th, beginning at 3:00PM and lasting until 8:00AM, Wednesday, August 5th, ALL campus information technology services will be shut down due to a Kellas-wide power outage. For the duration of the outage, we will make a best-effort to continue to offer critical communication services via https://blogs.potsdam.edu/network/ and the main campus web server at https://www.potsdam.edu/. Other services may be available at various times, but should not be expected. Please plan accordingly.

To clarify the phrase "there may be no data..": it is believed that critical network components serving the buildings listed below will remain online. The previous notice was purely cautionary in nature, and we expect no service outage outside of Stowell Hall itself.

There have been a series of “Stowell-Side” network outages this morning due to an electrical contractor shutting the power off, repeatedly, and draining through our UPS array. HVAC and Fire-alarm monitoring, as well as data networking were down – and may go down again – in Stowell, Crane Complex, Barrington, Maxcy, Sisson, Thatcher, Timerman, Brainerd, and all Residential Buildings.

The mail maintenance window is complete, and mail is once again flowing.

The campus mail infrastructure will be undergoing a three-hour maintenance window this evening at 11PM.  The ability to check mail over POP/IMAP will be interrupted during the window, and mail destined for local addresses will be queued for later delivery.  Mail sent to off-campus addresses will continue to be delivered during the window.

A failure in a critical storage sub-system resulted in outages to several campus services.  All affected services are back online.

We will be restarting the database server at Noon today to resolve system issues. Banner/BearPAWS/HR Time Accounting should be available 10-15 minutes after noon.
