Problematic systems have been isolated. All network segments back online.
Merritt, MacVicar, Morey, Flagg, Dunn 3rd Floor Labs, Carson, and Crumb
are currently offline.
We are experiencing some network issues on the local network. This may affect availability of some campus services. Technicians are looking into it.
Thursday, March 13th, between 10:00PM and 11:00PM there will be a 15
minute period where Internet, Internet2, SUNYnet, and some campus data
services may be unreachable, as critical UPS gear is replaced.
Helios, the campus file server, experienced a fault last night requiring
manual correction. All clear.
A problem with the processing of mail logins caused sporadic problems for users accessing mail over the last hour.
The webproxy server will undergo a one-hour maintenance window this
evening at 11PM.
BearPAWS & Banner we down this past weekend (2/23-2/24) due to problems with the daily backup. The problem has been addresses and the database was started by 8:15am Monday morning 2/25.
Mail stability is much improved, and all mail systems have been performing at satisfactory levels for over a week. No appreciable mail backlogs or delays have occurred for at least ten days. Technicians still closely monitor the system, but at this time, all major problems appear to be rectified.
We still ask that users log out of their email account at the end of the work day. This will minimize any potential email client issues if server maintenance is done overnight. We will do our best to keep the CTS network blog updated with the latest information, at https://blogs.potsdam.edu/network.
CTS wishes to thank the campus community for its patience.
