Current status: We’re reviewing service monitoring telemetry to determine our next troubleshooting steps.
Scope of impact: Impact is specific to some users who are served through the affected infrastructure.

Due to the approaching upgrade in the campus telephone system, CTS will not be processing any telephone changes (adds or moves) from 4pm on Wednesday, June 28, 2023 through 8am on Monday, July 10, 2023. Please note that all moves or changes will be placed on hold by CTS Telecom staff until Monday, July 10, 2023.

CTS has completed resetting phones for the campus. If you notice that your telephone does not have dial tone now that maintenance is complete, it may require a manual reset. Please list extension numbers in your area that are impacted and contact the IT Service Desk via email itservicedesk@potsdam.edu or (315) 267-4444 and we will reset your line as quickly as possible.
CTS has completed the process to switch the phone servers. The phones that were previously impacted continue to have issues. CTS will need to reset all phones in a rolling wave after normal business hours today to resolve the remaining issues. A post to this blog will be made when that process is complete.

Computing & Technology Services has been working to resolve ongoing issues with sporadic telephone outages since Monday, June 12. At this point we will need to switch to the standby phone server at Noon time today, June 14, 2023. The telephone system may be out for a short period of time as a result.

CTS technicians are continuing to investigate an issue where some campus phones may not have dialtone or audio. Not all phones are impacted but many are. CTS is also continuing to work through the issues that have already been reported. If you experience an issue and have not yet reported it, please report your extension number to the IT Service Desk (itservicedesk@potsdam.edu) or the Telcom office (telcom@potsdam.edu).
