[ANNOUNCE] SUNY Potsdam Network Firewall Maintenance

Computing & Technology Services (CTS) will be performing critical maintenance to the campus firewall on Friday, November 29, between 7 a.m. and 4 p.m. This will result in several brief losses of internet connection for the campus throughout the maintenance window.

Services impacted

During this time, all academic and administrative buildings will lose access to the Internet, including e-mail, BrightSpace and other campus hosted tools and services. Any active VPN sessions will be disconnected and need to be re-established after the update.

Services not affected

Off-campus and residence hall access to BrightSpace and e-mail should be unaffected during this time. ResNet internet service to the residence halls will also remain unaffected. Campus phone service will also be uninterrupted.

[INPROGRESS] Dropped or Unable to Hear Telephone Calls

There have been many reports recently throughout the campus regarding issues with calling where callers experience “one-way audio” or “disconnected calls”. If you are experiencing problems please report them to the IT Service Desk @ x4444, by emailing itservicedesk@potsdam.edu We are currently working with our carrier and the carrier is requesting more call examples. However, for us to report on your problem Telcom needs the following information for each individual call that experiences a problem: Called to number, Called from Number, Date, Time of call (be specific to the minute) and the disposition of the issue that occurred.
