The current phone service outage is affecting some outbound traffic as well as incoming calls. Further updates will be posted when they become available.
Incoming phone service to the campus is down at this time. A trouble ticket has been opened with our Service Provider asking for immediate assistance. Testing is in progress and any updates received will be posted as soon as they become available.
Updates to the Campus phone system were completed last night. Any telephony issues encountered should be submitted to CTS for evaluation via email to helpdesk@potsdam.edu or telcom@potsdam.edu.
Thank you for your patience during this service update.
Due to Voice Mail System updates, the phone system requires unforeseen maintenance, that will be performed this evening starting at or after 5:00 PM EDT. Any interruptions in phone service should be minimal, and the campus will be notified when the work has been completed. Please direct any inquiries, concerns or problems via email to telcom@potsdam.edu.
CTS has discovered and remedied the problem that was causing some computers to not have network access. If your computer still has no network access, an on-site visit from CTS personnel is required. Please report your problem to the CTS Helpdesk and staff will follow up with you as soon as possible: 315-267-4444 or helpdesk@potsdam.edu
CTS is receiving reports of isolated phone/network outages in the wake of yesterday’s power outage and network maintenance. If you are having connectivity issues, please make a report to the CTS Helpdesk: 315-267-4444 or by e-mail to helpdesk@potsdam.edu.
Network Maintenance is complete. All systems are back online.
Maintenance in our main Data Center will commence shortly. Some systems will be offline, most notably Helios. A message will be posted when maintenance is complete.
Firewall Maintenance is complete. All systems should be accessible on off campus.
Maintenance on the campus internet firewall will begin shortly after 6:30pm.
Users on campus will not be able to access services not hosted here (e.g., Banner, Moodle, and the Internet-at-large). Users off campus will not be able to “see” services hosted from on campus and may find themselves unable to authenticate to anything requiring their Campus Computer Account credentials. The phone system will not be affected. This maintenance is not expected to last more than 4 hours.
**NOTE: Students in the Residence Halls are “off campus” relative to this maintenance.
