The email server will be rebooted at 9:55 for a preventive procedure. It should be back up within 10 minutes.
There will be minor maintenance on the email server tonight (Tuesday, June 7) at 7:00pm, as a preparation step for the migration to Office365 later this summer.
This announcement is to alert users to the possibility of slow email response between 7 and 8:00 pm, though it is expected that there will be no slowdowns or user-visible effects.

Access to employment.potsdam.edu for administrative (SPOLR) users of the site has been restored. All functions of the site should now be working as expected. Thank you for your patience while CTS worked with the vendor to isolate and fix the problem.
The transfer of old email and mailbox folders, from the old email server to the new, is complete. If you are still missing email messages or folders, please try logging out of email in all windows that are open on your email (don’t just close the window — actually log out), and then logging back in. If this does not work, or you have any other issues, please contact the Helpdesk at ext. 4444, or email (if it’s working!) helpdesk@potsdam.edu.
CTS has received reports that logins to the employment.potsdam.edu portal are not working for SPOLR users. The vendor has been contacted and CTS and the vendor are working toward restoring access as promptly as possible.
The announcement a few minutes ago, that the email outage was over, relates only to the downtime needed to make some tuning adjustments on the mail server (to fix the problem of some users receiving timeout errors when checking mail).
The restoration of email from before last week’s crash is ongoing. Current expectation, based on data transfer rates seen recently, is that all mailbox restorations should be complete within 24 hours.
Emergency email server adjustments are complete. Problems with retrieving mail should be resolved. If you are still experiencing problems with email, please report them to the Helpdesk at extension 4444.
There will be a brief email service outage at 9:20 to perform emergency adjustments on the new email server. The outage is expected to last no more than 15 minutes
